Idea for September 2021: non-fungible token

My idea of the month is the non-fungible token

Mainly because I love the word ‘fungible’. Anyway, a non-fungible token (NFT) is a piece of digital art that can’t be copied and therefore can be sold. It all works through blockchain technology. The founder of Twitter has just sold his very first tweet, as an NFT, for $3 million. So NFTs may be the future of digital art, or of art collecting, or of art altogether. Or of status symbols. Or perhaps their biggest contribution is to bring us that delicious word ‘fungible’.

My image of the month is also a digital thing

My eye was caught by this non-fungible artwork on a new block of flats called ‘101 on Cleveland’. In estate agent clichés, it’s ‘a boutique collection of 88 stylish apartments in fashionable Fitzrovia’. But I can’t find out who created this work, or what the other binary numbers mean: any info welcome.
