This is ‘most advanced yet acceptable’ - a thought from one of the last century’s greatest designers, Raymond Loewy. I’ve just been reading about him: I didn't know that, though he worked in America, he was born and died in France. He designed everything from Pennsylvania Railroad trains in the 1930s to the interior of Concorde in the 1970s. And the Exxon, Spar, TWA and New Man logos. I like the challenge of MAYA: go way beyond the conventional but not so outré that it’ll never make an impact.
